GOVERNORS 

The Governing Board

The Governing Body has the overall responsibility, under the Education Act 2002, for the conduct of the school, for promoting high standards of educational achievement, and for ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction. The Headteacher is accountable to the Governing Body for the internal organisation, management and control, and the educational performance of the  school and its students. The governing body has responsibility for the appointment of all staff but has delegated this to the Headteacher for all staff other than Deputy Headteacher. 

Governors are responsible for overseeing the financial performance of the school, making sure its money is well spent, and ensuring that there is an effective and appropriate system of financial and management controls. The Governing Body has delegated the day to day responsibility to the Headteacher for implementing effective management systems, including financial monitoring and control systems, and for ensuring that the systems conform with good financial management practices and with the finance regulations of Northamptonshire County Council.

Committee Structure

In addition to full meetings of the Governing Board, the following committees are in place:

Pay & Personnel 
Responsible for overseeing staffing, resources and Headteacher performance management.

Appeals
Responsible for conducting appeals related to all aspects of school life. 

Admissions
Responsible for the oversight and review of the admissions criteria.

Other committees will be formed as required - for example for the purpose of considering pupil exclusions

The Governing Body appoint responsible officers whose role is to conduct termly audits which are reported back to the full Governing Body (FGB). In addition the FGB receive financial reports at each meeting. 

All other business including health and safety and curriculum and standards is overseen by the FGB. 

Chairs of committees will be appointed at the first committee meeting of each academic year.
