We are currently in the process of consultation to move our PSHE scheme of work.  We looking to move to the Jigsaw PSHE scheme of work. This is a program that staff are familiar with as it was previously used at the Infant school. It would also bring the children’s learning back in line with the Junior school as this is the scheme that they use.
Jigsaw is a whole school approach that builds consistency, it is a spiral approach so that the children build on the previous year’s learning, this would continue across both the Infant and Junior Schools. It is a whole school approach so that each year group is working on the same ‘puzzle piece’ or unit at the same time.
Jigsaw offers mindful, child centred approaches. It provides emotional literacy, social skills, and spiritual development with statutory Relationships and Health Education (RHE) all covered.
Each half term a newsletter will be sent home about the PSHE that will be covered in the following half term so there is an understanding of what the children will be learning, this is also done at the Junior school. Jigsaw also comes with a ‘parent portal’ where parents can request to see more details including the resources that the children will be using in class.
A questionnaire is out with parents so that we can gather their feedback.
